Pixieset Web Design

Web Design, Motion graphics
for Pixieset

I was tasked by Pixieset to redesign the landing page for their Website product, with the goal of showcasing its value in a clean, compelling way. In addition, I was tasked with creating an animated content block for the website to highlight their gallery “favorite” feature — a key part of the client proofing workflow.

The following designs reflect not just the visual refresh, but also the strategic thinking behind layout, hierarchy, and user engagement. I aimed to balance aesthetics with clarity, ensuring the product benefits are front and center while maintaining Pixieset’s brand voice and tone.

I designed a layout that showcases the product—a beautifully customizable photography website—while hinting at the range of available themes. A scroll animation brings the page to life, increasing engagement and helping users visualize a full website experience. Subtle glassmorphism adds depth and subtly references a screen. I also refined the copy, leading with action verbs to encourage user interaction with Pixieset.

I explored two visual directions:

  • Version 1 (above) maintains a minimalist feel, but uses richer tones and a darker background for a warmer, more immersive look.

  • Version 2 (below) aligns with Pixieset’s current aesthetic—clean, white, and minimal.

The animated content block for the website follows the same clean, white, minimal aesthetic as the Pixieset landing page. I used photos from Nadia Hung Co (one of the example websites) to better reflect Pixieset’s audience and enhance relatability. The demo of the “favorites” feature was edited to under 30 seconds for better engagement, while still showing all key steps. I added a subtle starburst animation on the heart icon to emphasize the action, and animated a smooth custom cursor using Pixieset’s signature blue-green. The copy was revised to lead with action verbs and clearly communicate user benefits.
